Welcome banners

When a user launches your application for the first time, the information banner will not be displayed.

During the first launch of your application, a welcome banner may be displayed if you have prepared one.

The welcome banner is a banner with the release version number set to zero.

- Caution!

By first application launch, we mean first view-agent launch. If your application has been installed on the user's machine for some time and the application's update introduces the view-agent, this will be the first launch of the application from the system's point of view.

A welcome banner is a particular type of banner used to welcome a new user.

After installing your application, the user launches it for the first time. Application launches the view-agent with the application's current version number as a run parameter of view-agent.

By the logic of the service, the first time your application is launched, the information about the latest version will not be displayed. You have prepared it for existing users rather than for someone running the program for the first time. Such a person (a new user) will rather expect a welcome message and general information about the product, including, perhaps, a reference to training materials.

The welcome banner is used to display such information.

- Tip!

You can also block the welcome banner's display for applications with a version number lower than the one indicated in the "Min release version" field.

- Note!

Suppose you don't prepare a welcome banner. In that case, the user will not see a welcome banner nor information about a new version after the first launch of your application, even if it should appear according to the version numbering logic.
